Peru Amateur Circus
Join us in Mid-July as we celebrate our Circus Heritage in Peru, Indiana with Great Family Entertainment in the American Tradition. Experience the beautifully costumed young performers who are so skilled that circus fans find it hard to believe they are amateurs; enjoy the rides, food, games and more on the main streets of Peru and for the grand finale, Peru's own Circus City Parade, one of Indiana's largest parades, steps off on the final Saturday

Each year approximately 200 young people ages 7 to 21, supported by a tremendous number of adult volunteers present 10 performances during an eight day period.  Also participating are Kiddie, Junior, and Adult Clowns, and a 50-piece Circus Band playing traditional and modern selections.  Several performers after completing their education, have gone on to perform with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Shrine Circuses and other professional shows. In addition, our performers have competed in the Permiere Rampe, an international circus competition held annually each January in Monte Carlo. They have received prestigious performance awards, proudly on display in the Circus Building.

Circus City Festival Inc. (CCFI) was formed in 1960 with the objective of reawakening Miami County's rich Circus Heritage. Dating back to the late 1800's many of the country's most famous circuses winter-quartered only a few miles southeast of Peru in Miami County. This area is now home of the famous International Circus Hall of Fame.
