The Cass County Visitors Bureau (CCVB) applied for a Quick Impact Placebased Grant (QuiP) in late April. We have received notification from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) and the Indiana Office of Tourism Development (IOTD) that the CCVB has been awarded $4000. This grant will help fund an interactive “Pop-Up Art and History Trail” to guide visitors with QR codes at 30 sites throughout downtown Logansport.
The OCRA and the IOTD awarded just over $103,000 to 23 communities and organizations for quality of place initiatives through the QuIP grant program.
The grant was announced by OCRA and IOTD in early April and is designed to help build stronger communities through unique projects which promote engagement and interaction to enhance the distinctive character of local Indiana places for positive economic and community outcomes.
The 23 projects that received grants were selected from over 100 submitted proposals and will receive grant funds ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for place enhancement and community transformation projects that spark community wide conversation and creativity.
The project is a collaboration of the CCVB, The Logansport/Cass County Planning Department, The Cass County Historical Society and County Historian, Logan’s Landing and Existential Media LLC. Each organization brings their unique vision as well as financial and in-kind support to the project.
The CCVB hopes that the success of this pilot project may eventually lead to its expansion throughout Cass County.
